Read to Me!

Our boys have got to be among the most active and crazy boys ever. 95% of the time they are running around thinking of ways to get into things they know they shouldn't. I think they burn more calories in their sleep then we do working out. The other 5% of the time they sit very still and it's wonderful. The boys love to read! As proud parents we are very pleased that they'll sit still for 20-30 mins at a time to read. They love all books but it seems like the classics are hot right now. Peter Rabbit is the coolest thing ever. It's amazing how much their comprehension has improved. They are able to point out so many different objects and animals. The best part, we read 2 sometimes 3 times a day!

This picture was taken the other night post diaper change but pre sleepers. Who can be bothered with trivial things like clothes when that naughty Peter Rabbit is stealing radishes?

Team Work

Logan and Penn have officially learned when they work together things happen faster and they get away with more before we can stop the "fun". To illustrate I have just a few examples that happened just this week.

1. We had just returned from grocery shopping and the boys are supposed to be playing with their toys while I bring everything in. Things were going as planed until the last trip. I walk in to find they have worked together and managed to pull the oven door open and climbed inside. That's right as individuals they are not able to open the oven ... together they can open the door and climb in!
2. I'm positive this next one was planned. Logan through his strawberry jam covered pancake on the floor and as I'm cleaning it up Penn reaches over with his strawberry covered hands and rubs into my freshly washed hair. I'm sure they planned it all out when they were supposed to be sleeping.
3. So now I'm in the bathroom trying to get strawberry jam out of my hair when I realize it's a little too quiet. I walk out to find that together they have muscled a chair out from under the table and Penn has used it to climb a top the table and is handing things down to Logan. I hope none of the mail was important because it was shredded before I had a chance to go through it.

Teamwork has taken the boys game to a whole new level. I guess Spencer and I are just going to have to step up and meet the challenge.

Sledding Fun

Shortly after Christmas Grandma Davis came to visit as did Uncle Mitch. It was perfect timing to take the boys sledding. I felt like Ralphy's mom on that movie "Christmas Story". The boys were bundled in layers and layers and truly had a hard time walking. Honestly it took longer to bundle the boys then it did to play in the snow. A good time was had by all, however the boys could take or leave the sledding but the snow was great.

Best Gift Ever!

Christmas was wonderful. We had a ton of family over, opened wonderful gifts and ate delicious food. But all of that couldn't top the best gift ever. Logan has decided it's time to walk. He stood up and started going just two days before Christmas... What a handsome little walker.

Round 2

Since the first round with Santa this years was such a disaster we decided to keep an eye out for another, more realistic Santa. The other night we went to a local diner in Layton. When we walked in we saw an awsome Santa getting pictures with kids. We thought we would give it another chance. As you can see from the picture he was a very realistic Santa, but the boys could have cared less. You would think we were trying to feed them to ants.

Since it didn't work out with the boys Santa let Mary Elizabeth sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Alittle creepy but what are you going to do, it's Santa. Hopefully the boys don't end up with a Santa complex or this will be a rough time of the year for them.

Father-Son Bond

There is little doubt both boys are Daddy boys. Mom's alright until Dad walks in then it's all tears until Daddy can play and cuddle. What could make Daddy so much cooler? I think the other morning I may have stumbled upon his secret.

Spencer had volunteered to feed the boys breakfast. The boys usually eat a piece of fruit and oatmeal mixed with applesauce for breakfast. I guess Spencer felt they needed a little more. Because when I came out to see how things were going I found the boys eating Christmas sugar cookies! When asked Spencer explained that I didn't need to worry they had only eaten two, a piece. But not to fret cause he gave them milk too.

Maybe, just maybe, that's why Dad is so much cooler.

We're Back

We have finally found our way back to the on line world. Spencer found a hot deal for a computer and our day after Thanksgiving shopping was successful! Halloween was a lot of fun, Thanksgiving was great. Bring on Christmas.

The other day we took the boys for a free picture with Santa at Walmart. As you can see, it didn't go as well as we would have hoped.

I'll admit that "Santa" didn't weigh more then 110 lbs wet and his costume was too big. Maybe if we found a more realistic Santa the boys would be more up to it. A girl can dream. This picture doesn't capture the angry scowl Penn is giving me. I'm not sure were he went but it wasn't a happy place. Merry Christmas!
