Belly Laughs

Having a belly that is nearly 51 inches around has some benefits. Can you do this?
It's a kitchen table

A coaster for your cold beverage

A desk to write on

A surface to prop books on

The only problem, sometimes the boys kick back. I almost lost a Slurpee while driving home!

Baby Update

At our last Dr. appointment we scheduled a date to get things rolling. The boys will arrive July 26th at about 6:30 pm. The Dr. estimates they are getting close to 7 lbs a piece! No wonder I can balance all sorts of things on the belly!

MY AWSOME WIFE!

I just wanted everyone out there in Blog Land to know how AWSOME my wife is. She has been a champ through this pregnancy. The boys are huge and all up in her important organs and she hasn't slept in who knows how long, but she has kept very active while keeping whinning to a minimum. This phase of the ordeal is coming to a close very soon, the boys will be here before you know it and Mary Elizabeth can start being an AWSOME Mom! YOU ROCK BABE!

Thanks

As "the belly" has grown so has my appreciation for service. Since Junior High I've tried to apply the scripture mastery scripture found in Mosiah 2:17 to my own life. To sum it up it says "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. " I've found small acts of kindness benefit both parities and truly brings joy to my life. I'm no saint and I'm sure I've missed out on lots of opportunities, but I try.

The last month or so "the belly" has gotten so large and has made life significantly more difficult, as a result I've found myself on the other side of service. How difficult that has been! I liked being independent, the strong one. It's part of how I defined myself. The two most common words in my vocab have become "thank you." This has given me a new appreciation for those who are able to gracefully accept service and for the quality of gratitude. Although I'm sure I'll be the recipient of much more service in the coming weeks, this has been a great reminder to me of how important giving and accepting service is and how right Pres. Hinckley was when he encouraged us to "Be Grateful". In that spirit ...

THANKS! Thank you for your help out of the chair, thank you for giving me an extra minute to sit with my swollen feet up, thank you for cleaning up after dinner, thank you for your heart felt prayers, thank you for throwing a baby shower, thank you for cleaning my bath tub, thank you for your thoughtful note, thank you for the gift, thank you for your concern, and thanks for taking time to listen. Thank you.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Things are moving along in this Davis Family. We've been so busy we haven't had time to post. Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to.We went to dinner and a Bee's game with Aunt Wendy and Uncle Larry. We love spending time with these two people. They have introduced us to some of the best restaurants in SLC. We had a great time!

The next weekend we went to Taylorsville Dayz with Candis and Joe and Mom and Dad. Spencer loved the classic car show and I sang along with the Beatles later that night. The fireworks were even great.

The next weekend, before heading to Idaho Falls for the 4th of July, Becky came up and helped us start putting together the babies dresser drawers and Spencer started on the cribs.

For the 4th of July Monica and Sean had everyone up. We had a great time and the free fireworks display in Idaho Falls was impressive. Spencer and I wanted a picture together but as you can see there just wasn't enough room for both of us in the frame! Is that really me? Gotta love the sisters. Thanks to Jenny (my sister in law) for the new shirt, it's one of the few that still fit.

After the holiday we made it back in time for Becky and Spencer to finish the job. As you can also see we've finished painting the nursery, just a few more finishing touches and it will be ready for the boys.

Those are the highlights in a nut shell. We hope all of our readers had a great 4th!
