2 Allready

The boys just celebrated their 2nd birthday. We have had so much fun I'm splitting this post in two. When Grandma and Grandpa Davis were here they celebrated an early birthday along with Grandpa. As you can see the tractors were a huge hit. They still enjoy playing with them which says something given how long their attention span is. Taking pictures of Logan can be so difficult. He is way to busy playing to smile for the camera. I think in this picture it's like he is saying "Why Mom?"
In addition to the tractors they also received a book about tractors. This is Grandpa reading it with them. Later that week we celebrated Grandpa's birthday with a cake, the boys must have been paying attention because when we asked them what they wanted for their birthday the answer "Happy Cake!" That is just what they got, look forward to our next post for more details.

Home

It's been a little over a week since we've come home and we've been super busy. We have to thank all of our family for taking such good care of us. I haven't had a day alone yet, which I'm soooo thankful for. I'm still not sure how we are going to juggle three kids and their schedules. Spencer and I are officially out numbered. Here are a bunch of photo's of us.
We came home the afternoon of July 4th. With two older brothers Audrey is stuck with a lot of blue hand me downs, including her car seat. Thank goodness for Grandma Gudmundson and the quilt she gave Audrey. The boys have done really well with their sister. They can't hold and kiss her enough. They are very worried about what she is doing and who is holding her. They have been awesome helpers, running for blankets or finding her binki when she is sad. Our 4 mile walks to and home from the park have been put on hold so we've been doing more around here. The boys love their new pool. They esp enjoy a cold drink after swimming. Audrey has even enjoyed the outdoors. She is already a part of our family.Logan and Penn invited a new game called table car. They love passing the hot wheel back and forth across the table. Their giggles are contagious.I guess I've been a little picture happy the last week. Logan saw a spider on the other side of the glass door and ran for his "camera". I guess he felt the wildlife was worthy of a picture. Turn about is fair play. "Smile Mom, it's your turn"Corn on the cob is a huge hit around here. Both boys gobble it right up. Even cleaning corn is more fun with Grandma Davis.We've been taking a ton of pictures of Audrey. For the most part she's been pretty patient although not entirely cooperative. Audrey has already found her place in our hearts and is truly a joy to have around. She has so many different facial expressions and already knows what she wants and how she wants it. We love her a great deal. We can't wait to see what adventures wait for our little family.

Our new kid sister

We have been spending a bunch of time with our Grandma and Grandpa Gudmundson this weekend because Momma and Dadda just went to the hopsital to pick up our new kid sister "Auders"(Audrey). We stopped by the other day and got to hold her and even give her a kiss. They say they are bringing her home tomorrow, she is pretty cute so that is ok with us. She just better not mess with our toys.

Audrey Elizabeth arrived on July 1st 2010 at 8:16 pm. She weighs 7 pounds 12 ounces and is 19 inches long. Baby, Mom and even Dad are doing great. The boys will coming up later today to meet their baby sister for the first time. Here are some pictures.

Tractors!

As the boys vocabularies grow it's been exciting to see what's on their minds. Turns out there are just a few things they truly get excited about. Slides, sticks, trains (toots), tractors and more tractors. Fortunately we live in a rural area with lots of tractors so we see a fair amount when we go out.

The moment we get into the car they both start saying "tractor? tractor? tractor" until we see one. Then it's "Tractor! Tractor!" No sooner have we passed it then from the back seat I hear "More tractor" and then "tractor? tractor? tractor?" and so forth.

We recently went to the library and found a book about tractors. It isn't really a toddler book, it's one of those books you used in the second grade to do a report with. There is a picture of a tractor on every page. We have a video of Dad reading it to them but I can't get it to load. It captures the boys enthusiastically pointing to every picture and yelling "Tractor!" I'm not exaggerating when I say we read this book at least a dozen times a day with the same level of enthusiasm. I think my new camera recorded it in too high of definition. So how about a picture of the boys watching a tractor pull race on the computer with Dad.

Not Much

It's been too long since our last blog. The problem, we just haven't done anything that exciting. I mean we were excited to finish painting the upstairs or put in another window casing in the basement. But I'm not sure it would catch your attention. So how about some random pictures of the boys, if nothing else Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy them.
Penn has a new fascination with Dad's hats. 30 sec's after breakfast he has to have one on and won't take it off without a promise of going outside and then he has to be coaxed to leave it behind. Both boys love Spencer's original teddy bear. His name "Bear", Logan is esp good at being soft with it and giving good snuggles. He's going to make a great big brother.

Durango

For Spencer's birthday we went to Durango CO to visit Mitch, Spencer's brother, and enjoy a little vacation. We talked my sister, Becky, into coming along. It was great! Mitch was an outstanding host and so patient with the boys, despite some accidents and mischief typical of toddler twins. Here are a few of the highlights.

Because Uncle Mitch and Aunt Becky are so cool they were totally willing to hang out at parks. We visited so many parks ...

Mitch had a park right outside his door. The swing was a huge hit. One night a bear walked right through, thankfully we were inside. Very exciting!

Both boys loved riding the scooter with Becky. They even started to get the hang of pushing it with one foot.
In addition to slides and swings the boys loved throwing rocks into water. We visited the Animas river and threw rocks then on to Lemon Lake to through more rocks. Becky and Mitch have never been more patient. Lemon Lake was just beautiful.
Spencer helped the boys recognize "fools gold" in a few rocks. Of course Logan wanted to show Mom so here he is carrying a surprisingly heavy rock up the sloop.

Who wouldn't want to visit this place?

We happened to visit Durango during the Iron Horse. A road race to Silverton Mine, a very steep and difficult mountain climb. They also hosted a professional road criterium, which we attended. It was so great to be there. On the last lap one of the tires blew practically right in front of us. Their tires are so pressurised it sounded like a gun going off. The rider pushed through the last block and still finished! It was a lot of fun.


A huge thanks to Mitch for showing us the train, the boys can't stop talking about it. We had a great time and will definitely be back! Also a ginormous thanks to Becky for making the trip easier, for playing with the boys and making them laugh themselves into delirium.
