Aggie Basketball
Uncle Mitch was awesome enough to come up to us for his birthday. As a result we were able to take the whole family to the Utah State vs Fresno State basketball game. As I'm sure you know we love our Aggies. The boys love their gigantic fingers and new hats. We all had a great time and of course our Aggies won! Congrats to the Aggies for being the regular season WAC Champs again! The game lasted until after their bed time so by the end of the game they were all a little cranky so no great pics but let me assure you we had fun.
After the game Logan was very much ready to go home as you can tell in this pic.
This last week has been a little crazy. Audrey had what we thought was a cold last week. But as her fever became more regular and the irritability got out of control we took her to the doctor where she was diagnosed with an ear infection and croup. Then on Monday, after another trip to the doctors office and the hospital (for tests), it turns out she also has RSV and the common cold. Poor girl, no wonder she was so unhappy. But the meds are working and she is doing much better. A huge THANKS to Grandma and Grandpa Gudmundson for coming up twice this week to play with the boys while I got things squared away with Audrey.
So if you don't see us out and about much, we are hibernating until the RSV season is over and the snow is gone. But if your healthy your welcome to come visit us. :)

Sports Metaphor and Potty Training
Spencer and I are training for a half marathon. We are way excited about it and have enjoyed pushing ourselves to run further then ever before.
Turns out potty training is more like a half marathon then a sprint. I thought we were prepared, I even read a book "How to Potty Train Your Child in Just One Day". It lied. It's simply not possible to train a 2 1/2 year old to use the potty in just one day. It had some great verbiage but throwing a huge party complete with fireworks and a canvas rug you've painted to look like a magic carpet is not going to get your child to use the potty in one day. Further more she only has one child, we were attempting to do two. But I have to say the boys are doing great. Logan is all but trained. He tells me every time and runs to the potty all by himself. Penn is not far behind. The boys have only had a handful of accidents since Sunday (as in a week ago). Don't get me wrong, it's not easy. In the first hour we had 4 accidents! 4!
We did take some funny pictures of the boys on the potty but we've decided not to embarrass them by sharing it here. We'll save those for their wedding video's. Here are some other great pics.

It's Time!
Did you know with three kids in diapers we change just shy of 100 diapers in a week? We've had enough. The boys are officially 2 and a half so bring on the potty training. We have big boy unders (super hero's) a toilet seat adapter and a Car's step stool. This weekend is going to be crazy. Wish us luck, we may need it.

I just love this girl.

Dreams Come True
As a family we really had a great weekend, it was packed with fun. It started with tower/tunnel building which were perfect for hot wheels and tracks.
But the really awesome part was making Spencer's dreams come true. I guess when he was a kid he really, really wanted the Hungry Hungry Hippo game. It was a dream that was never realized. 20 years and 3 kids later his dreams have come true. We bought the game to share with the boys and Spencer was in HEAVEN. Although he did lose interest before the boys, I think they would have been content to play for 3 hours straight.
And then the boys dreams came true, we made cookies.
It was a great weekend. Although, I'll admit, not perfect. The boys have turned off their "listening ears" and no amount of coaxing or bribing is working. I'm not sure I'm going to make it to their 3rd birthday. If you have any ideas on how to turn those ears back on I'm listening ....

A Lady
Audrey is doing so well and is growing cuter every day. She's in the 80th percentile for height! We would love to share it all with you, but Audrey is a true lady and would like to keep her age to herself.
Maybe next month!

Finally Christmas
We had such a great Christmas, I didn't want to skip it on the blog. We really tried to keep Christ the center of our Christmas and thanks to a nativity Grandma sent it was easier. The boys loved talking about "baby Audrey Jesus" (we continually corrected that) and the "presentseses" (they are learning the plural so everything has a few extra s's) the wise men brought and the pretty "moosic" (I don't know) the angels sang.

Of course Christmas morning was great, we were lucky enough to have Becky with us! Here are a few pics of the fun.
Dragons are still pretty neat around here. The boys were so excited they loved showing dad how the wings work.
The boys have loved playing with the hot wheels and track. Combine that with tunnels made of blocks and we have hours of fun.The week between Christmas and New Year we enjoyed a special visit from Grandma Davis. We did all sorts of fun things.
Reading Dr. Sues for the very first time. Kind of a big moment in a kids life, I'm glad Grandma was able to share it with them.
Grandma taught the boys how to throw snowballs. It's still a favorite activity, esp if Mom's the target. We also had a wonderful Christmas with my family. A huge thanks to Grandma G for the preschool lessons/FHE activities. We can't wait to start using them.

Random Thoughts
This blog is usually all about the kids but I wanted to share a random thought from me, and I mean random. I know ... the excitement the anticipation.
Are there things in your life that make you go "I'm on my way, I'm practically all grown up?" Every time I look at my banana hanger I think "wow, I have one of those?" It's silly but true. It's one of those things that isn't necessary but great to have. I thought the same thing this afternoon when I was putting towels in the linen closet. I whole closet just for my linens, amazing. Life is great! We may not have much but we're grateful for the things we do have. So here's to all the banana hangers in your life.
